The factory letter states that this gun was a "sample and display pistol of special edition issue kept by the Colt factory" and confirms the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with gold etched Los Angeles Police Department motifs on the slide, varnished smooth grips with gold plated Colt medallions and "wood grain box" with Colt Custom Shop end label hand marked "ARCHIVES" and factory order number "11018." It was released from the factory inventory in 2008. The box is numbered to the gun with papers.

Near new in box showing the slightest handling marks overall. The box is very good with edge and flap wear. Most of the end label remains. A special edition Government Model from the Colt factory collection that has great provenance for the collector.
