Beaded blade front sight and two leaf platinum wire accented rear sight, one leaf fixed, one folding) on the matte solid rib with doll's head extension. The top of the left barrel at the breech is marked "J.PURDEY & SONS", and the one line address is on the opposite, (portions difficult to read). The barrels are blue finished with an extractor and sling swivel eye on the underside, and British proofs, "TRADE/MARK", a star over "QUALITY", "44C" and "450 EX" on the flats, the matching serial number on the bottom of each barrel, "GRIFFIN & HOWE INC." on the underside of the right barrel ahead of the forearm lug and "NEW YORK, N.Y." on the left barrel. The water table is marked with a "TRADE/X/MARK" logo, "C star/QUALITY", two "crown/v" proof marks and "ANSON & DEELEY'S/ PATENT 5901". The matching serial number is also marked on the inside of the forearm hardware, and the release assembly is marked "W. ANSON/24757/PATENT". The frame is engraved with fine English scroll designs, and each side is marked "J. PURDEY & SONS". The engraving extends to the trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware. Double triggers, tang mounted trigger locking safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with teardrop flats, horn grip cap, solid rubber recoil pad, cheek piece, sling swivel eye and silver initial oval. Length of pull is 14 1/8 inches. The rifle comes with a leather and oak case with brass corner protectors, leather handle and red felt lining. There is a Purdey & Sons label affixed to the inside of the lid.

Fine as refurbished. The rifle retains 98% blue finish with a few tiny dings on the barrels. The receiver and forearm knuckle have a smooth silver/gray patina. The wood shows only light handling marks. The checkering on the stock wrist is finer than the forearm checkering and both remain crisp. With the exception of the above mentioned barrel marking, the markings and engraving are clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with staining and scuffs on the exterior and some loose compartment walls in the interior. The leather straps for the exterior are absent.
