This early Third Generation revolver was shipped on April 25, 1978, to L. M. Burney, Inc. in La Mesa, Texas, as the sole gun of this type in factory order 10695 in the current configuration, including blue and casehardened finish and factory class D engraving, as detailed in the included factory letter. The engraving consists of nearly full coverage vine scrollwork. Only three revolvers in this configuration and level of engraving are listed in the chapter "Factory Engraved Post-War Single Action Army Revolvers, 1956-1979" by Brichaux within "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver" by Wilkerson. Robert Burt completed one, and Leonard Francolini completed two. The revolver has the standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers and "COLT ENG" on the front strap. It comes in a burn orange Colt display case with French fitted interior.

Rating Definition:

Near new in case with slight handling and storage marks and scant cylinder rotation marks and one cylinder flash mark (possibly the factory test fire). The case is near excellent with some minor edge wear.
