This revolver is a fully functioning Colt Single Action Army revolver that has been cut to expose the mechanics of Colt's legendary design. While it is no longer safe to shoot, the revolver is an excellent display piece and is very educational. It is definitely much more interesting to look at the mechanical details on a functioning, three dimensional firearm than a flat schematic. Very few of these have been made over the years even though Samuel Colt himself had cutaways made of some of his percussion models to show off his company's designs and instruct members of the Ordnance Department and military. This example has all the standard recent Third Generation makings and features and is fitted with a smooth grip. It comes with a matching shipping sleeve, a factory blue box, and papers. The included factory letter verifies the revolver as part of a limited 100-piece Custom Shop edition, shipped to Southern Ohio Distribution of Lebanon, Ohio on July 29, 1992.

Near new in box with minor handling and storage marks and very faint cylinder drag lines. The shipping sleeve has some extra tape and some tearing. The box is very good with only minor storage wear.
