Description:

This rifle has an angled, high blade front sight with bayonet stud base, notch and folding ladder rear sight graduated 1-4 on the base and 5-11 on the ladder, standard lock markings, the standard markings used after mid-1876 on the high arch breechblock, "N.J" stamped on the left at the breech, a deep "N.J" cartouche and faint "ESA" cartouche on the left flat, "M/M/A2" on the left side of the butt, "M/M" on the right side of the butt and another "M" ahead of the lock, the script "P" stamp behind the trigger guard, and correct long wrist stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished with half of the fading blue finish. A black finish is visible on the breech, brown and gray patina, light pitting and oxidation, various minor marks and scratches, some minor hairline cracks and chips, and numerous small dents in the wood. Mechanically fine.
