Manufactured in 1921 with blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights, the two-line address/patent date on the upper left barrel flat ahead of the rear sight, "38-55" at the breech, the Winchester oval proof marked on the top barrel flat and on the top of the receiver at the breech, the three-line model/maker/trademark marking on the upper tang, the serial number on the underside of the frame, and a smooth forearm and straight grip stock fitted with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 75% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear and some minor oxidation on the upper tang. 60% of the original niter blue finish remains on the loading gate. The wood is fine with a number of scattered minor scratches, dents and dings. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
