Manufactured on contract by the U.S. Government in 1863. The revolver has the three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock and iron back strap. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas Naval battle scene and stamped with the partial serial number "7627", as well as inspectors marks "H" and "E". There is an Inspector initial "H" on the left rear of the barrel, "E" on the right rear, "F" behind the trigger guard and "T" on top of the back strap. Matching serial number on barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the partial serial number, "7627", on the wedge and arbor pin. Fitted with an original oil finished walnut grip stamped with a sharp "HWW" cartouche on the left side and "JT" on the right side.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel, back strap and cylinder retain at least 80% original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear, some thinning, some scattered minor scratches and some light spotting on the cylinder and back strap. The cylinder scene is nearly all visible and all of the markings are crisp and clear. The lever and frame retain 40% bright original case colors concentrated mainly in protected areas. Most of the original bright case colors remain on the hammer. The trigger guard has an aged patina. The lightly varnished grip is fine with some light wear and nicks on the lower edges, and overall scattered minor dents and dings. The action is excellent.
