Description:

Less than 1,000 of these small pocket pistols were manufactured in 1861 and 1862. These were the first Remington firearms designed to fire metallic cartridges. Advertisements listed them as "Elliott's Pocket Revolvers." The zig-zag nickname comes from the odd guide grooves on the rear of the cylinder/barrel group. Many have been lost or destroyed leaving few to fill their place in any advanced Remington collection. This example has standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine with strong traces of bright original blue in the protected areas of the barrel flutes with the balance even gray and brown patina. The grips are very good and have mild edge and handling wear. Mechanically fine.
