Factory letter confirms caliber, and barrel, and that it shipped to N. Curry and Bros., San Francisco, CA on December 27, 1883. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address marking on top and the etched "COLT D.A. 38" panel on the left side. The frame has the three-line patent marking and the trigger guard has "38 CAL," all on the left side. The grip straps are numbered to the gun. Comes with a full count box of fifty 38 LC cartridges by United States Cartridge Co. The green label has an illustration of a Colt Sheriff's Model 1877 Lighting revolver.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original nickel finish that is beginning to frost with some minor flaking. Nearly all of the etched panel remains. 70% original niter blue remains on the hammer and trigger. The slightly undersized grips are fine with some minor handling marks and a few hairline age cracks near the bottom. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine showing some wear with most of the labels remaining.
