Manufactured circa 1868-81, this is a nice example of a New York engraved No. 1 Model Third Issue revolver. The barrel sides, frame and cylinder flats have a broad leaf floral scroll pattern with a punch dot background. The serial number is marked on the butt, and the matching assembly number "P00" is marked on the frame under the grips, on the barrel lug and on the front cylinder face. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the one line address and patent dates. Nickel finish with casehardened hammer and fitted with smooth pearl grips. Comes with a suede purse holster.

Very fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish with some finish loss due to the effects of firing on the cylinder and on the barrel ahead of the cylinder. There is some flaking on the ejector rod and on the hinge. The hammer shows strong faded original case colors. The grips are also very fine with some minor handling marks. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The holster is fine with some minor wear and stains.
