This revolver has the Second Model features which include: butt with no lanyard ring, "44" caliber marking roll-stamped on the left side of the frame and batch number "746" stamped on the right side of the butt beneath the grip and on the inside of the loading gate. "746" is written in pencil on the inside of both grips. All of the visible batch numbers match. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILLION. N.Y. U.S.A." in one line. The revolver has two-piece, varnished walnut grips. Remington manufactured 25,000-30,000 Model 1875 Single Action revolvers between 1875 and 1889.

Excellent. This revolver is all original and retains 95% plus of the original nickel-plated finish. The nickel-plating on the revolver exterior shows only very limited wear with a few scattered age spots and some flaking on the leading edge of the cylinder. The inside of the top strap and rear face of the recoil shield have some finish loss and flash pitting. The grips are in excellent condition and retain most of the original varnish finish with a few minor handling marks. The barrel legend, caliber markings and batch numbers are sharp. The action is tight and functions well. This is an excellent example of a Remington Model 1875 Single Action Army Revolver.
