Included with the Cody email is a copy of the September 20, 1948 dated Winchester final inspection report for special guns, confirming the above mentioned details as well as other smaller details specific to the gun. Dual bead sights on the matte rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers, auto ejectors, standard third style barrel markings, Winchester "WP" proofs on the flats, and "WS-1/WS-2" marked chokes. The water table is stamped with the three-line model and address marking on the left side and the trigger plate is marked "SKEET". Fitted with a single selective trigger and tang mounted manual thumb safety. Mounted with a "kidney" pattern checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with a steel grip cap and checkered bare butt. The second 28 gauge barrel set is 28 inches long with a solid rib, numbered to the gun, 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, and "FULL/MOD" marked chokes. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .619/.617 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .040/.041 inch; drop at comb 1 9/16 inches; drop at heel 21 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 inches. The 28 gauge barrel measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .550/.550 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .05/.05 inch. Includes a custom leather bound takedown case with a nickel oiler bottle, three piece hardwood cleaning rod, and assorted cleaning rod heads.

Very fine. 99% professionally refinished bright, polished blue remains with very minimal handling marks overall. The forend and buttstock are also very fine with sharp checkering and a few small surface scratches. Mechanically excellent. The second barrel set is excellent with 99% original blue finish and minimal handling marks. The case is very good with some scuffs and light dents on the exterior.
