Manufactured in 1947 and features floral scroll engraving on the receiver, top of the bolt, trigger guard, tangs and breech end of the barrel. There is an oval panel on the left side of the receiver with two squirrels on a tree branch and three rabbits in a field scene on the right side. The lower right side scene is signed "N K". Standard barrel markings, including the Winchester proof mark on the top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and matching serial number on the lower tang and underside front of the receiver. Blade front and elevation adjustable rear sporting sights. Mounted with a 17 groove round bottomed walnut forearm and smooth straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. The rifle comes with a handwritten letter on Winchester letter head from Custom Shop Engraver and author Pauline Muerrie stating that the rifle was engraved by Nick Kusmit in the No. 8 squirrels and rabbits pattern.

Near mint as Nick Kusmit embellished. The rifle retains 99% blue finish with some minor cycling wear on the forearm slide bar and some minor dings and pitting under the finish on the right rear of the receiver. There are a few minor dings on top of the barrel next to the rear sight adjuster. The stock is a bit ill-fitting at the wrist and there are several tiny nicks along the front edge of the right side. There are a few very light scratches on the left side of the stock and some nicks on the upper forearm. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
