These drop breech rimfire rifles were manufactured first by Allen & Wheelock and Ethan Allen & Co. in the 1860s to 1870 and then by Forehand & Wadsworth in the 1870s and 1880s. Production was limited and only a couple thousand are believed to have been manufactured. It is marked "FOREHAND & WADSWORTH/WORCHESTER.MASS./PATENTED SEPT. 18. 1860" on the top of the frame with no other visible markings. It features a blade front sight , notch and folding leaf rear sight, and a rare Allen's patent rotary disk tang peep sight.

Fine. The barrel retains 75% of the blue finish, and the balance has brown patina. The stock is fair and has attractive figure, a repaired break in the wrist using brass plates, a missing wood chip in the toe, and several scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
