Manufactured in 1897. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/1884, 1888 and 1895 patent dates, the left side is marked "COLT D.A. 38", and the Circled Rampant Colt is marked on the left side rear of the frame. The matching assembly number "774" is marked on the frame, crane, cylinder release and grips. The serial number appears on the butt. Blade front, frame notch rear sights, all blue finish with polished hammer sides and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT"/Rampant Colt at the top.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% original blue finish with the grip straps thinning to a brown patina and some speckling of brown mainly on the cylinder. The grips are excellent with a few scattered minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. Correction: This is a civilian Model 1895 New Army revolver.
