Confirmed by the Colt factory letter, this pistol was a sample and display pistol kept by the Colt factory. The letter also confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, blue finish with gold etched ATF edition scenes, and checkered walnut grips with Rampant Colt medallions. Complete with Colt woodgrain box with Custom Shop end label numbered to the gun and papers. The end label also has factory order number "11409" and the notation "Archive".

Excellent. The pistol retains over 99% original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks. The grips are also excellent with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. The box is very good.
