DescriptionManufactured in Brescia, Italy, Famars shotguns are some of the world's finest and were available on a custom order basis only. The company ceased production in 2012. This very fine shotgun features very intricate highly detailed game scenes on each lock and on the underside of the receiver, as well as floral vine patterns. The left side is a wooded river scene with two setters and a pair of mallards taking flight. The right side also has two setters and a pintail pair rising from the water in a wooded river scene, and two hunting dogs in tall grass are on the underside of the receiver. The break lever, trigger guard, tangs and forearm hardware have floral vine patterns. Directly to the right of the trigger is the signature "G.M. CARGNEL". There is a single steel bead sight on the matte concave solid rib, 3 inch chambers, and ejectors. The chokes gauge at a loose cylinder and a tight full. The top of the left barrel near the breech is marked "Armi Famars". The matching serial number is marked on the lower tang, water table, barrel flat and on the forearm hardware. Blue barrels, satin grey remaining parts, single trigger, tang mounted manual safety, and mounted with a very nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with teardrop flats and checkered bare butt. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches, drop at the heel is 1 5/8 inches, and drop at the comb is 1 1/4 inches. Comes with a leather and walnut takedown case that accommodates both shotguns with leather corner protectors, straps and handle and royal blue lining. In the case are two nickel snap caps for each shotgun, a nickel oiler, a round nickel container with screw on lid and a three piece cleaning rod. There is a plaque on the inside edge of the case marked "HUEY #175/REED'S SPRING, MISSOURI".

ConditionNear new. The shotgun retains 99% plus original blue and satin grey finish, showing only light handling/storage marks. The wood shows only a couple very minor handling marks and has sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with a few minor scuffs and scratches on the exterior. There is a minor crack in the wood portion of the lid near the right side hinge.
