1) A leather travel case commemorating the original owner's second voyage with the airship company DZR. The painted graphic on the lid depicts the Hindenburg flying over New York. The case has the inscription "Congratulations on your 2nd cruise with D.Z.R., 1934-36." The case commemorates a Hindenburg voyage from Frankfurt, Germany to Lakehurst, New Jersey, during the airship's inaugural year. The following year the Hindenburg crashed while attempting to land at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey on May 6, 1937. It was the "Titanic of all air disasters" when it blew up in flames at Lakehurst. A rare opportunity to own a piece from a famous moment in aviation history. 2) "Zeppelin-Weltfahrten," a soft cover book exploring the history of the airship from 1899 to the around the world flight of the Graf Zeppelin in 1932. The book has numerous photographs mounted in the text. The photographs measure 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inches and are of airships, personalities and ports of call. The text is in German. 3) Postcard of the Graf Zeppelin in a hanger. The back has a Zeppelin Luftschiffwerft ink stamp. Also with air mail envelope postmarked July 25, 1931. The Graf Zeppelin was a German commercial passenger airship operating from 1928 to 1937 and was the first commercial passenger transatlantic flight service in the world. In July 24-31, 1931 the Graf Zeppelin flew a research trip to the Arctic. Note that the back of the July 25, 1931 postmarked envelope is stamped "FIRST INTOURIST/EXPEDITION/1931 ICE-BREAKER MALIGIN." During the polar flight an exchange of souvenir mail to the ship occurred with the Soviet icebreaker Maligin.

1) Very good with a tape repaired long tear on the back cover and showing wear and a few small stains typical for its age. 2) Fine. The postcard, which is devoid of writing on the back, shows slight edge wear, and the envelope has slight edge wear and overall clear ink stamps. A nice addition to an early air travel collection.
