Description:

This is an example of a DWM Model 1902 Luger carbine that is complete with a matching shoulder stock, two spare magazines, cleaning and takedown tool, all stored in a reproduction custom leather DWM style luggage case. It has a rust blued metal finish with straw colored smaller parts. This Luger includes its original matching walnut shoulder stock. This model has the longer/heavier 11 3/4 inch barrel with a small short forend that is attached to a hanger mounted on the front end of the frame. The forend houses a small accelerator to help cycle the barrel. The barrel has the standard small bead front sight mounted in a ramp base and the adjustable three position carbine rear sight. The barrel extension has the standard double "crown/U" commercial proofs. These Lugers have the long old style frame with the flat mainspring, grip safety, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, and the recessed/flat breech bolt with the small spring extractor. The chamber area is unmarked and it has the DWM logo on the front toggle. The serial number (24064) is stamped on the forend hanger and underside of the barrel, and the last three digits on the stock attaching iron and inside the forend. The various small parts are correctly stamped with just the last two digits (64) of the serial number. It has checkered walnut grips that a numbered "64" on the back sides. This pistol is complete with three (one for the pistol and two spares) tin-plated magazines and all three have unnumbered wooden bases. As noted it also comes with a custom made, carbine length brass cleaning rod with a wooden handle with an unmarked takedown tool. The Luger, shoulder stock and noted accessories are all stored in a very nice high end, reproduction Luger carbine storage/traveling case.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored having nice sharp edges, flats and markings, with only very minor edge wear. The smaller parts retain 75% of their restored straw colors also showing some light wear and fading overall. The grips are in fine condition with nice sharp checkering overall. The walnut stock is also in very fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall with very good checkering showing only minor handling marks on the sides. As noted it has matching numbers on all the parts except the magazines and firing pin. The various accessories to include the leather storage case are all in excellent condition. A super nice looking early Luger carbine that would be good for a Luger collector.
