Manufactured in 1943. Blade and flat top notch sights, the "USS" monogram and "U.S. & S. Co./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A." on the left side of the slide, a Robert Downie "RCD" inspected frame, a thin checkered hammer, short stamped trigger, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, reinforced Keyes Fiber grips, "L" marked magazine and a High Standard barrel.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original dulite finish, showing bright edge wear, a gray patina on the grip straps, and scattered light scratches and handling marks overall. The replacement grips are fine, with a small chip absent from the bottom of the left panel and sharp checkering overall. The interior surface of the slide stop and the related lower edge of the left side of the slide have been lightly ground and polished. Mechanically needs adjustment.
