Description:

The included Springfield Research Service letter confirms the model, serial number, caliber, sporting configuration, and October 15, 1928 date of shipment to John F. Brent of Denver, Colorado. Fitted with a fixed blade front and Lyman adjustable rear peep sight. The barrel is marked "S.A./flaming bomb/12-27". Standard model and serial number markings on the receiver. The bolt is armory polished and numbered to the gun with the serial number visible with the bolt closed. The bolt handle is marked "J5". Mounted on a sporting style pistol grip stock with a single barrel band, sling swivels, and a cupped and checkered steel buttplate. The inside of the wrist is stamped with a single circled "P". Issue number 149 of "U.S. Martial Arms Collector and Springfield Research Newsletter" dated December 2016, is also included and features an article identifying this rifle by serial number and describing it in detail. A CMP hardcase is also included.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 90% plus original blue finish remains with clear markings, light high point wear, and scattered small handling marks. The wood is also excellent with a few small impressions. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.
