Description:

Manufactured in 1942 with standard markings and features including the "G.H.D." inspection mark on the left side of the frame. Fitted with the correct Coltwood checkered grips. Includes a brown cardboard craft box hand numbered to the gun, bore brush, and papers. A letter detailing the history of this revolver states it was a part of an order issued to the Alabama National Guard to replace their .45 Colt 1911 automatic pistols after they had been withdrawn by the ordnance department for the larger war effort. This revolver is consecutively numbered to the next lot.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% plus original parkerized finish remains with light handling marks overall and some faint muzzle wear. The grips are also excellent. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with storage and handling wear.
