Manufactured in 1942 with standard markings and features including the "G.H.D." inspection mark on the left side of the frame. Fitted with the correct Coltwood checkered grips. Includes a brown cardboard craft box hand numbered to the gun, bore brush, and papers. A letter detailing the history of this revolver states it was a part of an order issued to the Alabama National Guard to replace their .45 Colt 1911 automatic pistols after they had been withdrawn by the ordnance department for the larger war effort. This revolver is consecutively numbered to the previous lot.

Excellent. 95% plus original parkerized finish remains with small surface scratches and scuffs, some mild edge wear, and handling marks overall. The grips are excellent with some small dings in the checkering and on the butt. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with handling and storage wear.
