Compact double barrel pistols like this were popular with travelers and military officers due to their relatively easy to carry size and additional firepower. It has "Laurent" on the right lock and "Gilles" on the left lock, both in script. The barrels have no visible markings. There are light engraving patterns on the furniture. The stock has a horn forend cap and raised relief flats and shell carving.

Fair. The metal has some varnish staining but mostly displays dark brown and gray patina along with some minor oxidation and pitting. The stock has been revarnished and has scattered dings and marks and some slight chipping in some of the inlet edges. The locks are mechanically fine.
