Description:

The top of the barrel has "EDGSON STAMFORD" near the breech and a fixed blade front sight. The breech plug is hooked and fitted into the engraved upper tang which has a small front sight. There are two proofs on the bottom of the barrel. The lock is marked "EDGSON" and has light engraving at the tail, a roller on the frizzen spring, semi-waterproof pan, and a sliding half-cock safety. The trigger guard also has floral engraving. The stock has silver wedge escucheons and a thumb plate. John Edgson's shop in Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, was active around 1797-1816.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with gray and brown patina, light pitting, scattered minor marks and scratches, some slight hairline cracks in the stock, and some small splotches of varnish/oil. Mechanically fine.
