This is a Third Model variation with the integral dust cover guide rail and a dust cover with serrated grasping grooves on the tail that was manufactured in 1900. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent date marking ahead of the rear sight and "44 CAL" at the breech. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "44 CAL." It has a bayonet style blade front sight, ladder rear sight, saddle ring on the left side of the stock and smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate featuring a compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Very good plus. The carbine has a smooth gray patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas (heavier on the magazine and barrel). There is oxidation on the magazine. The wood is good with added varnish, minor to moderate gouges and some minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
