Manufactured in 1901. Dovetailed high blade front sight, the rear sight dovetail has a filler block, and there is a short range tang mounted peep sight. The top barrel flat has the two-line address/patent date, the upper left rear barrel flat has the nickel steel/smokeless powder marking, and "25-35 W.C.F." is marked on the top flat at the breech. The upper tang has the three-line model/maker/patent date information, magazine tube with the 1893 patent date on the takedown latch, and smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very good. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with scattered light spotting, edge wear, and areas of brown and gray patina. There are several scratches on the receiver. The lever and hammer retain traces of original case colors in protected areas with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The buttplate has a mottled dark gray patina with some minor oxidation and pitting on the heel. The wood has been refinished and remains good with a few scattered small dents and some minor dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
