Manufactured in 1891, this is a Third Model with blade front (replacement) and elevation adjustable rear (replacement elevator) sights, two-line address/patent date marking ahead of rear sight, "44 WCF" marked at breech, "44 CAL" marked on cartridge elevator, "MODEL. 1873." flanked by fancy foliate marked on upper tang, serial number marked on lower tang and casehardened receiver. Mounted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock featuring a crescent buttplate.

Very good. The barrel and magazine retain strong traces of faded original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth brown patina. The receiver, hammer and lever retain mostly silvered out original case colors with a strong attractive pattern. There are limited patches of minor pitting. The refinished wood is also very good showing scattered handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
