Manufactured in 1940, this rifle is a seldom seen smoothbore Model 62. As with all 62s, this rifle has a takedown screw on the left side rear of the frame. It is equipped with a beaded blade front sight and adjustable sporting style rear sight. Below the rear sight on the left it is marked with the Winchester address, trademark, and Model 62 information along with "22 LONG R" and "SMOOTH BORE". The top of the barrel and frame have the standard WP proof mark at the breech. The bottom of the frame and lower tang have the matching serial number. It is fitted with a 17 groove forearm and smooth straight wrist stock with a checkered Winchester buttplate.

Very good with 85% plus original blue remaining, showing some minor wear on the barrel and magazine tube from normal cycling of the action, some minor muzzle and edge wear, and some thinning on the tangs. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish and remains fine with a few very minor dings and light handling marks. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent.
