Factory records for 1949-1963 for this model are not available, but this rifle was manufactured around 1952-1955. A more recent note on the inside of the lid of the matching box states it was manufactured in 1953. The box also has a few hand old hand marked numbers and letters and a correct end label faintly marked with the matching serial number on the bottom right corner. It features: a blade front sight with steal bead, adjustable sporting rear sight, standard markings including matching serial numbers, and checkered steal buttplate. A Model 61 tag without the details filled in.

Excellent. 98% plus of the original blue finish remains. There is minor cycling wear, a few nicks on the top of the action, light edge wear, and some scattered handling and storage type marks. The stock and forearm are also excellent and have smooth finish and some typical small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with tape repairs at the right lid flap, some stains, and moderate storage wear overall including some crinkling and separation.
