Improved modified/improved cylinder chokes, bead front sight, textured concave rib marked "GEBR. DAMM ELBERFELD," 2 3/4 inch chambers, an extractor, matching serial numbers on the barrel flats and water table, assorted Liege proofmarks from 1898-early 20th century (no nitro proofs) and maker's marks, traditional leafy scrollwork engraving on the frame and locks, deer scenes with gold wire borders on the rear section of the back action locks, checkered forearm with button release and engraved hardware, traditional German style horn trigger guard, and checkered round knob semi-pistol grip buttstock with cheekpiece, checkered buttplate, 1 3/8 inch drop at the comb, 2 1/4 inch drop at the heel, and a 14 inch length of pull. Barrel measurements: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .727/.725 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .0465/.0475 inch.

Fine with virtually all of the original gold on the locks, 25% of the original blue finish remaining on the barrels and fading to gray and dark brown patina, gray and lighter brown patina on the remaining components, crisp engraving, light spotting and pitting, and scattered minor marks. The refinished wood is good with crisp checkering, small nicks and chips at some of the edges, scattered minor scratches, and a few minor dings. The buttplate is chipped and worn. Mechanically excellent.
