Engraved Smoothbore Percussion American Long Rifle

This rifle has traditional blade and notch sights light accents on the barrel, an "H. ELWELL/WARRANTED" lock, plain trigger, German silver thumb plate and hunter's star cheek plate, floral scroll engraved patch box, and a plain stock with slight Roman nose butt profile.

ConditionFair with dark brown patina and light pitting along the length of the barrel, flash pitting at the breech, golden paint and dark patina on the lock, aged patina on the brass, faded flame figure patterns along the sides of the revarnished stock, mild dings and scratches throughout, and a smooth bored barrel (may have been originally rifled).
