This is a fine example of an prewar U.S. Army contract Colt Model 1911A1 pistol manufactured in 1941. These were the last of the all blued Colt M1911A1 pistols produced prior to WWII. These Sears inspected Colt 1911A1's were produced in the serial number range of 723000-750300. The frame is stamped with a boxed "R.S." inspection marking of Col. Robert Sears. The top rear section of the frame (by the disconnect hole) is stamped with a small boxed "R.S." and capital "G". Fitted an all blued barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on the lower left side, with a "P" proof on the lug and a small "F" on the underside. Comes with a two-tone Colt type magazine.

Very fine as professionally restored with 99% of the current blue finish overall. The markings are clear, however a little light in some areas. The "RS" inspection is restamped and slightly oversized. The edges are sharp and flat and it has the correct milling/polishing marks on the frame and slide. The recut grips are in fine condition.
