Manufactured in 1915. Blade front and flat top rear sights with the three-line Colt patent block, "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/U.S.A." and the flaming ordnance grenade proof on the left side of the slide and the Springfield American Eagle and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY." in sans-serif letters on the right. The grenade proof is repeated by the magazine catch with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the left side of the dust cover. It is fitted with a long smooth trigger, knurled wide hammer, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, short grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard staple, an unmarked replacement pinned lanyard base magazine and a "S" marked barrel.

Fine, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed gray and brown patina on the slide, dust cover and gripstraps, bright edge wear, and areas of minor pitting and spotting. The grips show heavy wear, some chipping, cracking and material loss, as well as a thumb indent on the left panel. Mechanically excellent.
