Manufactured early in 1917 as part of Colt's first assigned block for the year. Subsequenty the pistol was arsenal refurbished overall. The frame is stamped with a "GHS" inspection mark. The model marking traditionally seen on the slide and the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the frame are both absent. Features short milled replacement 1911A1 trigger, reinforced late production replacement grips (left Colt, right Keyes Fiber), and a "P/H" marked Colt barrel.

Fine as arsenal refurbished, with 85% of the gray/parkerized finish, showing bright wear around the front of the slide and muzzle suggestive of holster use, scattered light handling marks and a small amount of spotting. The government property/model nomenclature appears to have been deliberately removed; though no documentation was provided, some buyers of military surplus ordnance have been known to remove these markings, either for aesthetic reasons or out of fear that someone would interpret the markings as evidence of theft. The grips show some light dings and flat spots. Mechanically excellent.
