Description:

Manufactured May 31, 1943 with the standard two line address/patent dates on top of the barrel and "COLT COMMANDO/38 SPECIAL" on the left side. The ordnance bomb is stamped on the upper left rear of the frame. All parkerized finish, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with brown checkered composite grips with the Rampant Colt molded at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, finish, grips as "Not Listed", manufacture date, and that it was shipped as 1 to an individual in Williams, Arizona by the name of Henry F. Geutsch on August 19, 1943. Writer did an internet search on the individual and met with negative results. Obviously, the aformentioned individual had some hightly classified military association.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original parkerized finish with some minor muzzle and edge wear, a light cylinder drag line and some minor scuffs on the cylinder. The grips are near excellent with a small chip on the bottom left panel, a couple light scratches and sharp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
