Catalog Page: 137
Class: Antique
Description:

Manufactured between 1875 to 1887. These revolvers can fire both .32 long and .32 short rimfire cartridges. The rib is marked with the one line model designation, and the one-line New Haven address and patent marking is on the left barrel side. Factory scroll, punch dot, engraving covers approximately 70% of the metal surfaces, and there is a floral pattern on top of the back strap. It is fitted with "Lady Pattern" gold plated copper DeGress grips with relief engraving of a woman on the right grip and leafy scroll designs on the left side with the patent information in the center. The pair come in a custom wooden case with pearl insets on the exterior and olive drab lining. In the case is a Winchester 30 Caliber Short Rim Fire box containing 6 original rounds and two 16 round cartridge blocks with ammunition.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 90% original nickel finish with most of the finish loss on the cylinder, barrel lug area and on the ejector rod. Most of the original vivid case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also very fine with most of the original silver plating remaining. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The custom case is good with some chips, nicks and cracks on the exterior, and some staining and minor contact wear to the lining. The cartridge box is about good with one lid end panel detached (in the box) and some wear.

Catalog Page: 137
Class: Antique
Description:

This round ribbed barrel and short fluted cylinder variation was only manufactured from 1873 to 1876, and DeGress patented his technique in April of 1874, leaving less than two years of production of these revolvers as candidates for these attractive grips. This example has the standard markings, scrollwork with a punch dot background patterns on most of the metal surfaces, a floral pattern on top of the back strap and the silver plated copper "Lady Pattern" DeGress grips with a relief woman on the right panel and leaf and scroll on the left side with the patent information in the center.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 75% original nickel finish with areas of dark patina on the cylinder, and flaking and frosting on the frame. Most of the original silver remains on the grips with some of the copper showing through. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. There is some play in the barrel hinge, and the action is excellent.
