Description:

Designed by John Thomas, Remington master mechanic, the Remington Cane Gun was a signature weapon for the firm in the post-Civil War era. The gun has a rifled barrel and is in rimfire configuration. The serial number "100" is marked on the ferrule. There are no other markings visible on the entire exterior. The trigger has a concentric ring configuration with a concaved center ring that is commonly seen on .22 RF variations. The handle is a replacement silver ball with a hexagon motif and a silver collar at the base. The shaft is covered in gutta percha and has a pin sight. Approximately 2,000 .22 RF Remington cane guns were manufactured. A contemporary takedown case is included.

Rating Definition:

Godd as re-handled/modified. The gutta percha is fine with a couple small hairline cracks and some minor handling marks. The silver is fine. The action does not function.
