Manufactured between 1863 and 1875, and subsequently converted to rimfire and engraved. A plate has been added to the recoil shield and the rear of the cylinder milled flat and having grooves for the hammer striker. The engraving consists mostly of scrollwork on punch dot background. Several barrel flats have additional engraved entwining lines. The recoil shields have a fan engraving. An additional fan engraving appears on top of the back strap. A scallop and dot border engraving is featured on the back strap and butt. Narrow bands are engraved on the barrel at the muzzle and breech. A leaf motif is engraved on the loading lever and top strap flanking the sighting groove. The top barrel flat retains the three-line Remington New Model marking. The barrel is numbered to the gun. The screw heads have a niter blue finish. Comes with a floral tooled open top holster.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% nickel finish with some minor flaking. The grips are very fine with a very shallow small chip missing near the top (left panel), a small notch near the bottom (right panel) and a few age cracks on the bottom. The checkering is crisp overall. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good showing some wear to the tooling and some flex wear. The toe has been modified to a closed configuration.
