This factory metallic cartridge conversion example of a Remington New Model Police revolver has the two-piece cylinder and rimfire hammer. The barrel is numbered to the gun and has the three line patent dates/address/model marking on the top flat. Fitted with smooth grips. The New Model Police was designed to compete with the Colt Model 1862 series of revolvers.

Fine. The revolver retains 70% original nickel finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer. Half of the barrel marking remains. The grips are very good with numerous minor to moderate scratches and a small chip missing near the bottom (right panel).
