Manufactured in 1947 during the Transition period (late 1945 to 1951) in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. Hooded ramp and elevation adjustable rear sights, standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver, Transition safety, receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting, cloverleaf receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun, sling swivels and checkered highly figured pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. The Winchester factory style box is numbered to the gun with the additional "SPECIAL" marking. Comes with the model, sight alignment and correct bolt hanging tags and instructions.

Near mint as professionally restored showing the slightest handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is near mint with complete labels.
