The receiver was manufactured in 1938. Ramped beaded blade front sight with a Lyman filler block in the rear sight dovetail. The barrel has standard early markings including the ".30 GOV'T.'06." caliber designation. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for scope mounting with filler screws in place, and the left forward side is fitted with an adjustable Lyman peep sight. The oval factory proof on the left side of the receiver is faint. Features the stripper clip slot in the receiver bridge and the early "clover leaf" style tang. Mounted on a checkered pistol grip stock with sling swivels and a checkered blue steel buttplate. Includes a leather sling.

Very fine as restored. 98% factory quality blue finish remains with a trace of light spotting on the barrel and handling marks overall. The bolt handle and extractor have been reblued and the bolt numbered to match the gun. The wood is also very fine with sharp checkering and some scattered small impressions. Mechanically excellent.
