This is an example of a double dated Erfurt Kar 98 rifle, most likely a Post-WWI police issue. The top of the receiver ring is marked "1920/crown/ERFURT/1918", the left side is marked with an "Imperial eagle" proof and the serial number, and the right side is marked with three crown over script letter proofs. The left side receiver wall is marked "Kar 98." Matching serial numbers (partial or complete) on the receiver, floor plate, bolt assembly, barrel bands, trigger guard assembly, and shrouded front and tangent rear sights. The bolt release is numbered "26". Full one piece pistol grip stock with a flat steel buttplate numbered to the gun and marked "S.P.3.39."

Fine as arsenal refurbished with 80% of the blue finish thinning in some places with mild high point and edge wear, small nicks and dings, and handling marks throughout. The arsenal refurbished stock is also fine with most markings no longer visible, small dings and gouges, and shallow grasping grooves. Mechanically excellent.
