Description:

According to an affidavit sworn out in April of 2002, this pistol was the property of one Lieutenant Junior Grade Charles Dean, U.S. Navy, who was one of the military personnel responsible for the disposal of Japanese military hardware during the post-war occupation. Manufactured in October of 1941 " (16.10 Showa) with standard markings and a matching numbered magazine. Includes an extra magazine, cleaning rod, and an early pattern leather clamshell holster with a hand marking inside the lid; a supplied translation indicates it as the signature of a "Second Lieutenant Itou".

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light handling marks and spotting overall. The very fine grips show some light chips, and the fine holster bears a few scuffs but generally remains strong and supple. Mechanically excellent.
