The pair feature single steel bead sights on concave ribs with light flourishes of scroll engraving near the breech and the numbers "1" and "2" on each gun respectively. The barrels are marked "JOSEPH LANG & SON" on the right, and "7 BURY STREET. ST. JAMES'S, LONDON, ENGLAND". Both guns feature 2 3/4 inch chambers, automatic ejectors and improved cylinder/modified chokes. The seven-pin side lock actions feature near full coverage in fine English scroll engraving with "JOSEPH LANG & SON" on each plate. The top of the break levers each feature a gold inlaid "1" or "2". The trigger guards and forearm fittings are similarly numbered for each gun. The actions feature dual triggers, and tang mounted automatic safeties. Mounted on checkered splinter forearms and straight grip stocks with teardrop flats, silver initial ovals, and leather wrapped recoil pads. The barrel and stock measurements for gun "1" are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .734/.734 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .048/.048 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches; cast off; toe in; weight 6 Lbs. 12 Oz. Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished (barrels) and wood freshened. 97% of the blue finish remains with small scattered dings, light though legible markings, and a few small surface scratches. The receiver and lock plates have a smooth mottled gray patina overall with crisp engraving and clear markings. The wood is very good with scattered small dings, handling marks overall, well defined checkering, and wear on the leather wrapped pad. The case is excellent with light storage marks.
