Manufactured in 1956, this is an example of a scarce smooth bore 22 LR Shot Model 61 rifle. Single bead front sight, with grooves on top of the receiver for scope/rear sight mounting. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/proof steel marking followed by "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-" and "MODEL 61 - .22 L.RIFLE/-FOR SHOT ONLY-". The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The right front of the receiver by the magazine tube is marked "MT". With checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally restored. The rifle retains 98% blue finish with minor wear on the barrel, slide bar and magazine tube from normal cycling of the action. The wood is also very fine with only a few light dings and handling marks. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
