Manufactured in the early 1940s. Hooded ramp front sight, filler block in the rear sight slot, bolt mounted peep sight (missing the elevation adjusting knob), standard markings including the Winchester factory oval proof on top of the receiver and barrel at the breech and smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. The right side of the frame has two filler screws visible in non-factory tapped holes.

Fine. The rifle retains 75% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina and a spot of cold blue touch up visible on both sides of barrel under front sight ramp. There is some minor pitting (mostly on the barrel). The wood is fine with a putty filled blemish on the forearm (left side), a nick in the pistol grip, a few long scratches and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
