This exceptionally attractive Browning Superposed features a single brass bead sight, 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, and modified/improved cylinder chokes. The barrels have standard markings and Belgian proofs. The coin finished action features false side plates with crisp detailed game bird scenes with attractive contrasting precious metal inlays. The scenes depict several species of quail in fields. The scenes are surrounded by fancy gold wire inlaid borders and flourishes of tight flowing scroll engraving. The trigger guard, tangs, break lever, and forearm fittings are similarly engraved. The trigger plate is signed "CAPECE" just to the right of the trigger. Mounted on a checkered forearm and stock with beaded borders, intense dark figure, sculpted tear drop flats, and a checkered bare butt. The stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches. Includes a Browning takedown case.

Very fine as custom engraved, gold inlaid, and stocked. 99% of the original blue finish remains on the barrels with a few light handling marks. The wood does not fit tight to the metal in a few areas. The engraving is very sharp. The wood has a few small dings and some visible gaps around the top of the frame and side plates. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with handling and storage wear.
