The accompanying Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation letter from 1958 confirms the 26 inch, No. 1 octagon barrel and caliber and shipment was on August 4, 1904. An included Cody Firearms Museum serial number verification confirms the details provided in the Olin letter as well as the globe front and mid-range tang sights. The rifle also has an elevation rear sight, a barrel marked with the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and "25 R.F." at the breech and a lower tang marked with the patent date and serial number. Mounted on a smooth straight grip stock with an ebony forend insert and crescent buttplate.

Excellent. The barrel and receiver retain 95% original blue finish showing some thinning to a brown. The buttplate is a mottled gray patina. The remaining metal surfaces retain 75% original case colors. There are a few small patches of pitting. The wood is also excellent with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
