Manufactured in 1905 as a .405 WCF, the most powerful cartridge specifically made in a lever-action rifle. Beaded blade front sight, filler block in the rear dovetail slot, Lyman receiver peep sight and standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver. Mounted on a highly figured and custom checkered walnut Schnabel forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate and a blank silver initial oval.

Very good with shortened barrel. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some very scattered minor pitting. The reoiled wood is very good with a minor chip missing from the wrist (left side), a repaired chip near the upper tang, recut checkering and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
